Chrome Won’t Play Videos

Is your Google Chrome browser giving you a hard time when want to play videos? I have some solutions to try.

Start by clearing the cache. That’s a great first step whenever you have a browser issue. Press Ctrl + Shift + Del and then choose to clear cached images and files.

If that doesn’t work, consider turning off hardware acceleration.  Click the three-dot menu icon at the top right and then choose Settings.

Click System at the right, and when the System menu pops up, turn off Hardware acceleration.

Another option is to enable Javascript. When you open Settings, select Privacy and security.

Then choose Site settings.

Then click on JavaScript.

Mark the box next to Sites can use JavaScript. Then try reloading the page you are attempting to play.
