A reader is having a problem printing from Gmail.

“I am trying to find where to look to change the size of the font when printing a composed email. Windows 10 has many areas that make it harder to read and understand. When I print an email I composed, the printed version has the font size about 8 and not 10 or 11 or 12 when printed. I’m not sure what to use to make my printed copy readable. I have a HP LaserJet MFP M130fw. I’m using with Mozilla Firefox browser. As I related, I didn’t  have any problems when I was using XP. I also have Google Chrome, but I don’t use email with that browser.I’ve looked at the information that came with the printer and it doesn’t tell me much. I googled user manuals for this printer. The HP help center(?), after searching for the above printing problem showed that it isn’t in the printer but from the document you are printing. I tried to follow the instructions but couldn’t find some of the sources in the print screen. I could only change the size by percentage and chose 125% using the print preview selection in the print drop down menu. While the text is bigger, it is not centered on the page but there is at least 2-3 inches on the left side of the paper pushing the text all the way to the right and cutting off the text.

I used to use the print preview window all the time when I had my sturdy Laser Jet Plus printer which is/was very old but still worked. I had to give it up because the printer cartridges I purchased from several vendors, one or more spilled toner all inside the printer and the technician I made an appointment with told me since it’s old there are no replacements for this old of a printer.

So, Cyn, can you help me solve this printing/font size problem? I know you are very busy and I appreciate you spending time to help us users out.

I think the issue may have more to do with the way the latest version of Firefox prints than Windows 10 or your printer. I had the same issue when I attempted to adjust the size using the print command in Gmail using Firefox.  I clicked the print icon inside the email.

This dialog opens. When I used this to set up the printing, I found text was hanging off the page. Instead, hit the cancel button.
